In June of 2010 it was discovered that patient(s) that had been at Acadia Hospital for treatment were having lots of issues arise in the court system and with CPS ( DHHS )?It appeared that these two places were remaining a little to close.
It has been a long drawn out process to open Augusta?s eyes to this..However, things are in the works now for Augusta to realize this. I cant wait to actually not worry about this issue. It appears that disadvantaged people (? disabled?) ( I personally do not like that word?) may have had to toe the line unlike other non disadvantaged people. I believe that lots of things will happen in the coming year(s) with these groups of people, I know that Thursday at 1:30PM at the Disability Rights Center in Augusta is Hosting a Candidates Forum with Governor Angus King, State Senator Cynthia Dill and Secretary of State Charlie Summers the info about that can be obtained by calling: Rick Langley at 1.800.452.1948 at the Disability Rights Center. ? This Senate race has received national attention ? the Washington Post referred to it as ?the most important Senate race of the year? ? and this forum offers a powerful opportunity for people with disabilities to impact the policy debate.
